Americans have the top rate of colon-rectal cancer of any nation in the world. It is now accounted for more deaths of Americans than ever before in history. Many habitancy think it’s a dirty subject and some think it’s embarrassing, but cancer and death are worse. Maintaining the condition of your colon can help to significantly improve your unabridged condition and limit the occurrence of constipation and diarrhea.

What Is The Colon?

In anatomy of the human body’s digestive system, the colon, also called the large intestine or large bowel, is the part of the intestine from the cecum to the rectum. It plays an leading role in the body, because it rids our system of toxins, fecal matter and waste while intelligent water and nutrients. One will find a very delicate equilibrium of bacteria in the colon, which sustain it in its processes. If this equilibrium is disturbed out of sorts, general colon functioning can be inhibited.

Health Issues Promoted By Slow Digestive Transit Time

Reports show that the food we ingest should have a transit time through our body of less than twenty-four hours. Under active bowels create a disease-friendly environment in the colon. The slower transit time allows toxins to drill the bowel wall and pass to the blood system, finally spreading throughout the body. This can cause a weakened immune state, which leads to quicker amelioration of major diseases such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes and many others. Even with one bowel movement per day, you will still have at least three meals worth of waste matter putrefying in your colon at all times. Even worse, your digestive system can also become continuously self-polluting cauldron of poisonous gases that are caused by foods you can’t tolerate. Think about the potential ill effects that wait someone with an under active colon! These poisonous gases can enter your bloodstream, irritating your organs and joints. Absolutely this is a expectation not any of us want to have to deal with.

Why Is Your Colon Under Functioning?

Many factors lead to an under functioning colon, such as diet, stress, drugs and chemicals. When the colon is irritated, it produces mucus to safe itself, which can bind with food residues and become hardened, sticking to colon walls. Symptoms connected with a clogged colon contain diarrhea, constipation, fatigue, headache, spots, poor skin, muscle and joint aches, and depression or emotional instability. Food trapped in the colon breeds bacteria and other parasites.

Improving Your Health

A quarterly colon cleansing is practiced by millions of habitancy for different reasons. Many habitancy select to proactively clean their colons because of lifestyle factors (past and present), such as eating red meat, drinking alcohol, coffee or soda, eating too many dairy products or junk food, smoking, or not exercising. Others select to clean their colons because they are overweight. While others cleanse their colon as an efficient means to inhibitive care.

Reported benefits of cleaning the colon contain weight loss, great mental health, improved digestion and nutrient absorption, great memory, quarterly bowel movements, reduced gas and food sensitivities, a reduction of toxins, increased energy. Supplementary Benefits of Colon Cleansing:

o	Increased energy levels

o	Clearer skin

o	Improved concentration

o	Better absorption of vitamins and minerals from foods

o	Overall healthful feeling

Methods To Cleansing Your Colon

There are any methods that you can use to cleanse the colon, such as colon hydrotherapy, laxatives, colonic fasting diets, and nutritional supplements. One very favorite herbal colon cleansing system is Colpurin(Tm). The product is unique in that it is an oxygen-based method that will soften and remove toxins and hardened fecal matter from the system. Clinical studies have shown that Colpurin(Tm) may decrease the risks of developing safe bet condition problems by boosting the body’s immune system. Why is this important? The body’s immune system is the first line of defense against practically all infections and diseases. If your body has a strong immune system you will be less prone to infection. Pretty fantastic news for those with an under functioning colon.

The purpose of the cleanse is to remove the toxins from the fat, muscle, blood, and internal organs, that have accumulated simply over a period of years. This is how you preclude disease. When you do a cleanse, you loosen up and flush out this accumulated waste and poison, and it has to flow out of the elimination channels, especially the colon and kidneys. Clean organs means good condition and the bowel is the best place to begin.

If you have pain in your thumb, and it gets worse closer to the tip, you might try massaging your thumb. You might even try massaging the pad of your thumb.

If neither of those actions help, that means the cause of your pain isn’t there–it’s somewhere else.

A “trigger point” is a hyper-irritable place in a muscle (or other soft tissue) which “triggers” or “fires” painful symptoms elsewhere. A indication of illness could feel like burning, aching, numbness or tingling. So trigger points cause pain away from themselves.

In the case of pain at the tip of your thumb, the trigger point that causes your pain is in your lower arm. The pain is called “referred” pain because it is referred to your thumb by a trigger point.

There are muscles that allow you to move your fingers and thumb. These muscles are Not in your hand! The tendons (tough strong tissue at each end of your muscles) attach to bones. Your finger muscles all have a muscle “belly” in the middle and tendons at each end which attach the muscle to bones.

Finger and thumb tendons are very long. The bellies of the muscles that move your fingers are assuredly in your arm!

The muscle that causes pain in the tip of your thumb is deeper than (it is buried under) muscles that are closer to the exterior (where your skin is.)

What Should You Do?

Turn your hand so it is palm-side up. Warm the palm-side of your lower arm. You can do this with a hot pack or by massaging (rubbing.)

Massage lightly at first. As your soft tissues and muscles start to soften and relax, you can massage deeper and deeper. As you press more deeply, start seeking tender places in your lower arm.

The trigger point will feel tender when you find it. It will be practically 4 to 6 fingers away from your hand and wrist. When you locate it and press on it, you might feel referred sensations in your thumb. That is how you will know you have found it!

Press into that tender area for 12 seconds, at a pressure of about 7 out of 10 (10 being the most intense discomfort.) Trigger points in muscles write back and relax best with a pressure of about 7.

It won’t be a tiny slight dot. You may have to ensue the tenderness and apply pressure in several spots. Take all the breaks you need. You can keep going back to tender areas and re-treating them. If you feel a slight bruise-y afterward, that is just because your muscles were tight and they weren’t used to person pressing on them.

It could take a day to observation the difference, but if you have less pain in the tip of your thumb, you have done it! You did your own therapeutic massage.

Good Job!

Squash bugs are base in North America. They primarily like squash and pumpkins but will strike other cucurbits like cucumbers. They are no ifs ands or buts mistaken for the stinkbug. They look very similar and when crushed have both have a clear odor. Early detection is very important. When in the adult stage they are very difficult to control.

The adult squash bug is about 5/8 of and inch long and about 1/3 of an inch wide, dark gray to dark brown in color and orange brown alternating strips on its abdomen. There eggs are about 1/16 of an inch long, yellow to bronze in color and elliptical in shape.

Squash bugs go through five stages called instars before coming adults. The nymphs are 1/10 to 1/2 inch in distance as they develop through the stages. When a nymph hatches it is light green in color with a black head and legs. As the nymphs grow toward the adult stage they first turn to a light gray color and progressively turn to a brown gray color with black legs and antennas.

Over the winter the squash bug finds protection in plant debris and under rocks. In the spring they emerge, feed off cucurbit plants and mate. The female lays about twenty small eggs individually in a knot on the underside of plant leaves. They lay there eggs from about mid June through mid summer. There eggs hatch in about ten days and mature into adults in about four to six weeks.

The damage that a squash bug preforms to plants is done by sucking the sap out of the plants. They have a mouth piece that pierces into the leaf. Signs of damage show as wilting leaves. The squash bug is unlike the cucumber beetle in that it doesn’t send disease to the plants. It is very important to control squash bugs when plants are young and tender. Mature plants can tolerate some squash bug damage a lot better.

Having a good salutary organic soil structure full of life is the best method to holding the squash bug under control. During the winter months the squash bug will bore into the soil to overwinter. Beneficial nematodes that live in the soil will help control the habitancy before they get out of hand in the spring. Another method is to plant a late season trap crop for them to feed off before the end of the growing season so you can destroy them before the overwinter in your garden soil.

Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul, was right. It begins here. Most of society’s ills and problems stem from the lack of respect. That’s quite a statement. Lack of respect for-

o	God,

o	authority,

o	community,

o	self

God:

When we lose respect for God, we feel that we can do anyone without God. We begin to second-guess God in our potential to understand the mysteries of our faith or the universe. We begin to length God as somehow not involved and only ‘watching from a distance’ or no longer a factor. And yet there are many things that ‘civilized’ modern man has been able to achieve seemingly without God’s help. Don’t be fooled.

Just when you think you don’t need God is exactly the time you need to stop and reflect on all that is made possible because of God’s love for man. And remember that God’s ways are not man’s ways. We fail to recognize God’s ways when we think we can elaborate all that’s colse to us in ‘human terms.’ Some physicists talk about the ‘Big Bang Theory’ of how our solar theory and universe were formed. Yeah, right. So elaborate to me the origin of the following:

o	The splendor of the seasons; not even close to a big bang.

o	The power & might of the oceans’ tides

o	The electro-magnetic field colse to the Earth

o	The fact that the same side of the moon all the time faces the Earth

o	The miracle of life itself, in all its forms

o	The migration of butterflies, birds and animals

o	The ozone layer

o	Genes & Dna

o	One lone leaf falling in the late autumn of 1997 (read on)

o	And yes, the limitless innovative power of the human mind, the best computer ever ‘invented’

We are talking about order in the world colse to us and ‘big bangs’ like a popped firecracker no ifs ands or buts don’t elaborate these events to my satisfaction. Only God can; so I best believe that there is a God and leave it at that. And by the way, the same God or power that most of the worlds’ religions believe in.

Remember to give thanks to God for all things that happens to you- good, bad or indifferent. Thank you God. We cannot all the time elaborate or elaborate events in our lives. Why me? Why my best friend? Why my family? We don’t know. God knows why. Still give thanks to God for His Love is everlasting.

Prayer is the most fine force on this earth. Try it. It works. Prayer is talking to God, not necessarily with formal repetitious prayers or only at prescribed times or in certain lawful buildings. It’s talking to God when you hope He is listening- in your car, in your walk in the park, at work, and yes even from jail or a hospital bed.’

Many religious fanatics and terrorists (sounds like an oxymoron- religious terrorist) preach & custom destroying peoples of other faiths, and if they die in the process they achieve ‘martyrdom.’ no ifs ands or buts a God of love would not promote or encourage this type of behavior.

Authority:

When we lose respect for civil authority we lose respect for our society. True. Many of our politicians (and some of our prejudiced police that abuse their authority) don’t deserve much of our respect, much less our vote.

What is a house without respect for parents, especially single parents?

What is a school without respect for teachers and school administrators? When that happens you can forget potential instruction no matter how much money you throw at the problems. Who needs the Internet and computers in every classroom when kids can’t even read and do simple arithmetic?

Community:

He who spares the guilty threatens the innocent. -Legal maxim

What is a community without respect for the police? It’s called a gang- infested slum. It’s called a haven for drug addicts and drug pushers fighting over turf. It’s called parents that have given up disciplining their kids. Kids go astray when they purposely deface their own neighborhoods with spray paint graffiti reminding me that they are a couple of notches below the genuine sense of purpose exhibited by wild animals marking their territories with urine.

Self:

“If you don’t respect yourself, ain’t nobody gonna give a good cahoot.”

-The Staple Singers

What are we as citizens of this great country if we lose respect for self? What does it say about our self-respect if a mom with child reports to an abortion clinic to take off an unborn baby from her uterus with no more remorse than removing an appendix or a wart? If our goal is be more Christ-like each day, what are we doing piercing every dangling piece of body flesh and tattooing every other part that doesn’t dangle?

Our consumer-based commercial community has taught us how to accept ‘slow death’ as a way of life. everyday we custom dying moderately voluntarily with double the delight and double the fun through eating disorders, a disregard for a salutary life style and exercise, cigarette smoking, alcoholism, and drug addictions.

We choose to have an illegal drug qoute because our community tolerates it and our politicians, up to now, won’t enact the tougher laws that would put an end to illegal drug activity. I remember while my travels one day on our plane’s arrival to the Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia international airport the flight attendant comes over the loudspeaker, “Welcome to Malaysia…the penalty for dealing in illegal drugs is death. Have a nice day.” An unsettling silence comes over the main cabin. imagine if that same proclamation was made as planes landed in the United States one year from now? Would it curb the drug trade? Yes. Would it have an impact on road violence? Yes. Would a mom and father come to be more involved in retention their kids drug free? Yes. So what’s stopping us? Who’s stopping us? Us!

When we put to death innocent lives still unborn, we are committing the worst atrocity known to man. A mom who has an innocent life aborted while it is still growing inside her womb, in my opinion, is committing the gravest of atrocities against someone else human being.

When young population commit suicide, they are end their lives off to God’s love. As I heard a country singer say once, “When you commit suicide, you are playing God. He’ll take you when He’s good & ready, but not any earlier. You see, a place has to be built for you in Heaven, and if you get there before God calls you, you may have to wait covering those Pearly Gates for a long, long time because you do not have a reservation.”

Respect means treating others the way you want to be treated. It means being considerate of others or showing deference to them by respecting their wishes, opinions or desires. Respect helps keep the peace. But at the same time, it doesn’t mean giving in to something we know is wrong. Respect means treating others with civility, courtesy and dignity instead of ridiculing, embarrassing or hurting others, even if they themselves don’t respect themselves.

Respect means being more accepting of differences. Again it doesn’t mean giving in to wrong behavior, but it gives us an opening to discuss issues and differences of view without violence. Respect yourself. Be good to yourself. You deserve it.

Each of us matters to God.

The broad-minded see the truth in dissimilar religions; the narrow-minded see only the differences. -Chinese

Are you a heavy drinker? Do you love to drown yourself in beer and other hard liquor? If so, get ready to be hit by pancreatitis.

Pancreatitis is the inflammation of the pancreas, the large yellow gland behind the stomach which secretes digestive juices and hormones primary for good health. It is the price adults have to pay for drinking too much.

“Alcohol causes pancreatitis, which leads to impaired yield of digestive enzymes and malabsorption of nutrients. Even beer, with five percent alcohol content, will cause gastric irritation if consumed regularly. On the other hand, pancreatitis is more usually found in drinkers of hard liquor,” said Dr. Myron Winick, director of the design of Human Nutrition, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, in “The Columbia Encyclopedia of Nutrition.”

Aside from drinkers, those most likely to get pancreatitis are poor eaters, obese individuals, and those taking sulpha drugs, azothioprene, chlorothiazide or cortisone.

There are two types: acute pancreatitis which may occur suddenly, and continuing pancreatitis, which may design gradually.

Severe acute pancreatitis is characterized by extreme abdominal pain, vomiting, abdominal swelling and gas, fever, muscle aches and low blood pressure. continuing pancreatitis, on the other hand, is marked by persistent mild or severe pain in the upper abdomen which may last for days or weeks, mild jaundice and rapid weight loss.

“An acute charge is often a succeed of gallstones, alcoholism, duodenal ulcer or injury. An acute charge is characterized by the onset of severe, steady abdominal. Pain, nausea and vomiting, fever, a lowered blood pressure, fast heart rate and clammy skin. This disorder is diagnosed on the basis of symptoms and blood tests. In a large whole of cases, the pancreatitis is caused by biliary tract disease; if this is suspected, ultrasonography or Ct scans may be performed,” explained Dr. Lewis P. Schneider, assistant professor of clinical medicine, in “The Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons complete Home curative Guide.”

“Chronic pancreatitis may design over a period of time without the sudden, dramatic symptoms of an acute attack.Fat digestion is impaired, resulting in fatty stools. There may be recurrent abdominal pain and other symptoms; x-ray studies may find stones or areas of calcified tissue within the organ. If the qoute is due to a partially obstructed pancreatic duct, it may be resolved by surgery,” Schneider added.

Treatment depends on the cause, but the acute form of the disease is usually curable in five to seven days. In five percent of patients, however, the disease is fatal. Complications include diabetes, continuing calcium deficiency, secondary bacterial infection and gigantic hemorrhage.

Preventing pancreatitis is simple: “Don’t drink more than one or two alcoholic drinks – if any – a day,” said Dr. H. Winter Griffith, a fellow of the American Academy of family Practice.

The issues of healing malpractice do not commonly occur immediately with value to symptoms. In order for a healing malpractice bags to be brought, the claimant (enduring) must have suffered some costs as a stock of the actions of the defendant. In most bags, naturally having a new indication of illness is not consulation for healing malpractice. As forever, consult an attorney or professional valid adviser for counsel about healing malpractice.

The most probable way for symptoms to be knotty in a healing malpractice complaint is due to the basal healing clause causing the symptom. However, crash to recognize an basal clause may main to healing malpractice, if the unidentified disease affects hurt, disability, monetary harm, or even downfall (see also unfair downfall complaints). Some universal symptoms that May finally main to healing malpractice involve chest drag (may be a middle condemn), abdominal drag (may be appendicitis), coughing (may be lung pest or even mesothelioma), breast lump (could be breast pest), rectal flow (could be colorectal pest), and so on with frequent other possibilities.

When man asks me to elaborate what Holotropic Breathwork is, I try to keep it easy but I also comprehend that it is difficult to elaborate in just a few words. Many habitancy today are familiar with the term Breathwork, however, not many are familiar with Holotropic Breathwork.

Holotropic Breathwork is a noteworthy way of deeply chance to innate curative wisdom in our mind, body and spirit. Drawing on old curative and spiritual practices, Holotropic Breathwork uses the breath and music to enter into a non-ordinary state of consciousness in a safe setting. It permits deep self-exploration, healing, and spiritual chance of the Self. This process can bring about awareness and transformation at all levels. Events that occur in our personal history, in the circumstances of our birth, or in transpersonal realms can create constrictions that impede the flow of our creative energy. These constrictions may keep us from attaining the personal wholeness, community feeling, and brain of spirit that brings abundance and satisfaction to life. Consequently, we may palpate difficulty with our interpersonal relationships and lack a sense of life’s purpose. We may also feel stress, anxiety, or bodily discomforts that accepted treatment cannot relieve. Holotropic Breathwork offers a noteworthy way to determine our full inherent by helping us overcome feelings that we are stuck, trapped, blocked or burdened.

Holotropic means enchanting towards wholeness. It is that inner capacity for self-healing at the heart of our being that makes all curative possible.

I discovered Holotropic Breathwork in 1999 when I went to a stepping back in Joshua Tree, Ca. Those Holotropic sessions are still with me in memory today. They were very profound experiences and left me persisting to quest more about my self. Since then I completed the Grof Transpersonal Training and completed a Masters in Transpersonal Psychology.

Today, I host my own Breathwork workshops because I believe this work has noteworthy curative benefits for the mind, body and spirit. Also, this custom is motivational for searching inside of ourselves to heal imbalances or blockages that may not all the time be apparent. These wounds could stem from any amount of occurrences in our lifetime or before. The awareness of my own past trauma has offered me the power of transformation in my own life and is expressed in my most modern book, Unveiling The modern Goddess: Thru Symbolism, Chakras & Myth. In the book, I consist of an Appendix exploring the details of Holotropic Breathwork.

Holotropic Breathwork isn’t only for problems or imbalances we unconsciously carry around, it is also for spiritual seekers and habitancy who are interested in learning more about their unique imprint and identity. This work would interest habitancy who are seeking the truth in order to attain a stronger connection to the Divine. There are many reasons for exploring Holotropic Breathwork. The most common reasons are: stress-related symptoms, patterns of addiction, depression, anxiety, repressed trauma, grief, blocked creativity, spiritual awakening, primary life transitions and seekers of meaning, purpose and truth.

Are you motivated to observe a new perspective and make sure changes in your life? If so, perhaps this work is exactly what you have been looking for. Andrew Cohen, editor of What is Enlightenment? magazine quotes, “our motive shouldn’t be so we can abide in a state of peace and relaxation beyond the process. Our motive should be to come to be passionate and egoless vehicles for an ongoing evolution.” Each one of us has the chance to take responsibility and wholeheartedly participate in a life process that is rich and more authentic than we could ever imagine. If this excites you, the Holotropic Breathwork will be an palpate you will never forget.

The Blood of the Martyrs is the Seed of the Church. -Tertullian

Introduction

This record is an introductory look at the persecution of the early church. The Jewish collective setting and subsequent persecution of the Christians by the Jews will be looked at first, followed by the Roman collective setting and persecution of the Christians by the Romans.

Persecution Of Christians By Jews – In Jerusalem

Social Setting

Jewish Scholars point to the rejection of the Torah as the basis of the friction in the middle of Christians and Jews, while many Christian scholars have pointed to the rejection of the Messiah as the basis of the conflict.1 A closer look at the involved collective setting of Jerusalem while the first century will divulge a much more involved set of events.

Judaism of the first century was composed of eight very separate groups of Jews. In the same way that it would be a gross misrepresentation to lump Mormons, Muslims and Atheists in the same category, so it would be likewise inaccurate to lump Jews of this time period into one category, plainly based on their national or ethnic identity. Here is a brief summary of the varied groups, focusing on the political aspects of their identity, since politics were at a fever pitch in this involved and struggling nation:

Sadducees: This was a group of wealthy Jews who controlled the Temple, which enabled them to continuously generate the financial resources to remain in power. While not wholly embracing their Roman occupiers, they sided with the Romans to help themselves remain in power over the temple.

Am Ha- ‘aretz: The citizen of the land. These were the segment of the base peasant population, which paid minute attention to the observance of the Torah and seemed to shun the study of the Torah.2 This group would have included any Jews who proclaimed atheism and by and large held minute political power.

Scribes: precisely translated as one who can write. These were the scholars of their day.

Essences: A sect which separated themselves from the cities, observing greatest lucidity and piety in the deserts, awaiting a sure eschaton to come in their generation, which would remove the foreign invaders from Judah and produce a new order.

Zealots and Sicarii: The Sicarii were the terrorists of their day. They would hide small knives under their garments and in the midst of busy crowds stab definite offenders. Politically they served to stir up sentiments of war against those they opposed.3

Hellenized Jews: An ever-growing citizen of Jews who were embracing the new order of Hellenism to the exclusion of Judaism. The reasons for this transformation were numerous, chief of which were financial and political gains that came with embracing and trading in Hellenized areas.

Pharisees: The citizen who were most focused on Torah worship and observing with rigid detail not only the laws of the Torah, but also the laws created to build a fence nearby the Torah. This group of citizen felt great pressure from manifold directions. They had the Sadducees controlling the temple, the Hellenized world enticing Jews to view Judaism as the old way, Hellenism as the wave of the hereafter and the Roman government oppressing them. They were retention on to a trust that seemed to be fading away in this involved and changing world.

Going back to the introductory arguments of why the Jews persecuted the Christians, Jewish scholars who point to the lack of Torah worship as the basis for the friction discount the fact that many groups in this world were not observing the Torah, with minute to no persecution being directed at them. Paul was said to have observed the Torah worship when in the business of Jews, but he still faced persecution.4 In addition, records found in the Dead Sea Scrolls speak of an anti-ritualistic sentiment within the Jewish population. Christian scholars who point to the rejection of the Messiah as the basis of the friction fail to recognize than the Essences and other obscure sects used messiah language and some even claimed to be a messiah, yet there is no record of directed persecutions among those groups. To best understand what could have caused the persecution of the Christians within Jerusalem, the record of Christian activity in Acts must be observed.

In the first seven chapters of Acts, while the Apostles’ study to Jerusalem, the Apostles were found in the temple preaching. Those in attendance of such sermons would have been the Sadducees and Pharisees. The message of a new kingdom reserved only for those who professed Christ would have angered the Sadducees by threatening their power hold on the temple. As much as they would have desired relaxation from foreign invaders their link with the Romans helped to keep them in power and thus the Christian message was an affront to their capital. Likewise, the same message would have been even more distasteful to the Pharisees. It would have struck the same already raw nerve of the invading Hellenism in that Christianity, like Hellenism, demoted the very symbols of their ethic solidarity of purity, food laws, Sabbath and circumcision. Judaism was once again being portrayed as obsolete by yet other new doctrine in the new, enlightened world.

It was not merely the message of the Christians that resulted in persecution, but the compound of the wrong message to the wrong citizen at the wrong time. Had the Christians been preaching their message to groups such as the Hellenized Jews or the Am Ha- ‘aretz they would have probably been met with whether acceptance or at worst disinterest. However, their option of groups and venues ignited a powder keg that was already set to explode. Josephus observed this great hatred and unrest poised to strike back at the Hellenistic and Roman threats. In his autobiography he talks about his attempt to defuse an impending revolt: I perceived that innovations had already begun, and that there were a great many very much elevated in hopes of a revolt from the Romans…. [I] Persuaded them to turn their minds…and this I said with vehenement exhortation, because I foresaw that the end of such a war would be most unfortunate to us. But I could not persuade them; for the madness of desperate men was quite too hard for me.5
Needless to say, “loving your enemies” was not met with the many enthusiasm.

So the motivation for the persecution of the Jews in Jerusalem changes, based on which group is being addressed. The Sadducees were fighting to avow the established order, the Pharisees were fighting against the degeneration of the Torah worship and many others were poised to invoke a revolution against the Roman invaders. There was no one conjecture for the persecution, but rather a involved web of cause and corollary relationships.

Resulting Persecution

In the eyes of the Roman government Christianity, which at this time had no legal title, was seen as merely other religious segment within Judaism. With so many sects within the Jewish community, it is easy to see how Romans viewed Christians as merely one more peculiarity in a nation of peculiar citizen and religious beliefs. So the Jews had very minute recourse in turning to the Romans to persecute Christians. This resulted in the trial and stoning of Stephen without help from the Roman authorities.6 While it was unusual for Jews to execute capital punishment under the Roman governance, it was not unheard of. In John’s inventory of the trial before Pilot, Pilot tells the Jews to judge him themselves. They sass that it is not legal for them to put whatever to death.7 However, in the context of them demanding Jesus be put to death, the criticism by Pilot seems to propose they were known for doing just such a thing, on occasion.

Before the stoning of Stephen, the Christians were living in Jerusalem, worshiping and praying in the temple daily. After the starting of the Christian persecution in Jerusalem, they were forced out and subsequently began to tour to other cities, spreading the gospel to the Diaspora Jews first and the Gentiles second. It must also be noted here that the persecution of Christians by the Jews was not a unified effort. It was largely the Pharisees and the Sadducees who pressed for the persecutions.

Persecution Of Christians By Jews – In The Roman World

Social Setting

Unlike the Jews of Jerusalem who viewed the Romans solely in terms of an enemy occupation, the Jews of the Diaspora had learned to co-exist with the Romans in a tense truce, having lived in many of the Roman cities for generations. The Roman Pagans had standard the Jewish citizen as a reality and each group had their own butchers and did their own cut off sacrifices for their meats to be sold in the marketplace. The Jews in the Roman Diaspora had also attained a part of wealth and affect in the Roman world.8

Resulting Persecution

When Paul would arrive at a new city he would first go to the synagogue and preach to the Diaspora Jews. The Jews who rejected his message were often the ones who would go to the Roman authorities to incite them against Paul. This union of Roman and Jewish persecution of Christians is seen in Acts 14. In that story, the Jews go to the Roman authorities to seek Roman action, subsequently resulting in the punishment of stoning, which was the Jewish form of capital punishment.9

Jews who rejected the message of Paul, desired both to disassociate themselves and to prejudice authorities, portraying Christians as hazardous revolutionaries. It was a mass-conversion in Antioch when Christians first received a nickname differentiating themselves from their Jewish counterparts.10 This differentiation opened a new era of persecution from a Roman world that gave no such religious immunities to Christians, as it had for the Jews.

Roman Persecution Of Christians

Social Setting

It was not long before Christians became a recognizable and particularly detested segment of the Roman world. By 64 Ad they were already so set that Nero was able to use them as a likely scapegoat in his Smokey the Bear campaign, which will be discussed in the next section.11

The question with converted Christians is the way in which they broke from the collective norms that were vastly foremost in the Roman world. From arranged marriages to well prepared evening meal banquets for opt guests, political positioning of families was key to survival in this world. However, when friends or political acquaintances converted to Christianity they would withdraw almost entirely from the political structure. They refused to participate in the festivals and games, rejecting the gods, which they felt kept their nation strong for so long. They rejected the divinity of the Emperor–a sin that the gods would not allow go unpunished for long. They even refused to participate in joyous sexual ritual prostitution and exciting drinking bouts. In addition, some of the Christians refused the meat from the markets, because it was disposition for the cuts to be part of the sacrificial system. And most personal, they refused invitations to dine with other long time friends and families. These kill-joys were shunning their former political alliances and starting to make enemies out of one time allies and friends.12

The difficulty for Christians only compounded as the tensions foremost to the persecutions grew. For Jewish Christians the temptation to fall back to their safe Jewish roots in which they were raised also held the lure of being able to once again claim Jewish religious legal immunity. Gentile Christians had no natural link to this religion with its’ roots in Judaism and no political power to safe or aid them or their families. The fact that the Christian church was able to survive was nothing short of a miracle.13

Resulting Persecutions And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast…having…ten horns…drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.14
The ten persecutions of the Christians spanning from 64 Ad to 313 Ad was ascribed by the fourth century Christian church as the ten horns of the beast in Revelation and by the ten plagues seen in Egypt.15 The persecutions, each with varying motives and reasons, all share the same peculiar markings in that while the persecutions were historically verifiable, no recorded laws have survived that specify reasons for the persecutions. As the persecutions evolved from one generation to the next, the subsequent generation seemed to use the past persecutions as edict adequate for chronic or reigniting them. For example, in response to Pliny on how to deal with and prosecute Christians, Emperor Trajan writes, “No general rule can be laid out in fixed terms.” However, he does say unequivocally, “Certain accusations published anonymously should not be entertained on any charge. For they both set a very bad precedence and are alien to the spirit of our age.” Pliny was article in sentencing Christians to death for plainly being too stubborn in their retention to Christianity in the face of inevitable death.16

Stemming from the second persecution under Domitian, the payment of refusing to worship the Imperial Cult seemed to be the first and great payment against the Christians. Some have argued that atheism was the payment against Christians; however, atheism in and of itself was not a crime in the Roman Empire. If, though, Christianity was held to with such stubbornness that one refused to pay alms to the Imperial Cult, then the field was in violation of law. However, the worship of the Imperial Cult was not an issue until the reign of Domitian who, unlike his predecessors, forced the citizen to address him as their “Lord and their God” while his lifetime, and not after–when Caesars ascended to the level of a god. Domitian even had coins made bearing his likeness that read “father of the gods.”17

The Ten Persecutions

1. Persecution under Nero 67 Ad — Nero burned a great part of Rome in a fire that lasted nine days. When word got out that Nero started the fire an uproar forced him to find a scapegoat and so he blamed Christians. while this first great persecution of the Christians Nero started a trend that lasted throughout all ten of the persecutions in that he devised new and increasingly gruesome punishments, including sewing animal skins to Christians and releasing wild dogs to eat them alive. He also put shirts dipped in wax on some of the Christians and then lit them on fire, using them to illuminate his gardens for his invited guests. His acts were so heinous that even the Romans felt sorrow toward the Christians. Paul and Peter died in this first round of persecution.18

2. Persecution under Domitian 81 Ad — Known for cruelty, he killed his brother and many senators, some due to his hatred of them and others to plainly confiscate their lands. He also ordered the death of the entire lineage of David. His persecution of Christians stemmed from their refusal to worship him as a god, something most emperors up to this point refused to accept. Among those killed while this persecution was Simeon, the Bishop of Jerusalem. He tried to boil John alive, but when he miraculously survived he was banished to Patmos. Timothy was beaten by a crowd of citizen on their way to celebrate a pagan feast. He was beaten so badly that he died from his wounds two days later. while the persecution, if any famine pestilence or earthquake happened, the blame was laid on the Christians.19

3. Persecution under Trajan 108 Ad — Much the same continued concerning Imperial Cult worship while Trajan’s reign. Ignatius was the most renowned of the martyrs of this persecution.20

4. Persecution under Marcus Aurelius Antonius 162 Ad — So brutal were the means by which these martyrs were persecuted that it is said the Pagan onlookers would shutter with horror at the sights and some became converts at, “A faith which inspired such fortitude.” Polycarp and Justin Martyr were given crowns of martyrdom while this persecution.21

5. Persecution commencing with Severus 192 Ad — The age of Tertullian, who said that if the Christians removed themselves from Rome at this time, it would have suffered a great depopulation. In a reversal of the source of the persecutions a Christian healed Emperor Severus of a sickness, but the multitudes demanded the performance of Christians and the reapplication of the defunct Imperial Cult laws to apply to Christians. Many who suffered martyrdom under this persecution fell while games at the amphitheaters. Leonidus, father of Origen was beheaded while this persecution.22

6. Persecution under Maximus 235 Ad — In Cappadocia the president Seremianus did all he could to exterminate the Christians from that province. while this time Christians were martyred without trial and their bodies were cast into pits as many as 50 or 60 at a time.23

7. Persecution under Decius 249 Ad — There were two causes of this persecution. First, Decius hated his predecessor Philip, who was deemed a Christian and second he was jealous of the rampant growth of Christianity, causing the heathen temples to decrease in attendance. By this time many schisms in the Church body had formed and the persecution was met by a divided Church. Fabian, Bishop of Rome was entrusted by Philip to care for his treasure. When Decius seized it and found less than he staggering he had Fabian decapitated–the first martyrdom of this persecution. Many soon followed with yet other new set of imaginative deaths to befall those refusing to renounce Christ. Of note, Origen, like his father before him, was sentenced to death. He was thrown in prison where his feet were pierced and his legs were stretched for several days. He was threatened by fire and tortured with long, slow pains such as these for days upon days. However, before any death could befall him, Emperor Decius died and his successor Gallus engaged in a war with the Goths, leaving the Christians with a respite. Origen, having been given a release, retired to his home and died of natural causes five years later. while the reign of Gallus a plague broke out in the empire. So Gallus ordered sacrifices be made by all in the empire. When Christians refused the magistrates had many of them put to death.24

8. Persecution under Valerian 257 Ad — This emperor likewise invented new and distasteful ways of persecuting Christians. Most interesting, however, was the turn of events that marked the end of this, one of the many persecutions of the church. Sapor, the King of Persia, captured Valerian and precisely used him as a footstool when he mounted his horses. After subjecting him to be a slave in his kingdom for eight years the Persian king then had Valerian’s eyes put out. Still seeking more gruesome ways to torment him, he had Valerian flayed alive and then rubbed with salt until he died.25

9. Persecution under Aurelian 274 Ad — The reign of Aurelian, though not this persecution, was short-lived as his own servants put him to death. However, the following emperors who supplanted him (and subsequently were likewise met with quick ends) continued the persecution.26

10. Persecution under Diocletian 303 Ad — commonly called the Era of martyrs. Christians were expanding and becoming wealthy. On February 23, 303 Diocletian set forth his work to extinguish Christianity in one day. Watching on from on high the churches were raided, razed to the ground, and the documents burned. Not satisfied with just this, he purposely burned a part of the city so that he could blame the Christians and additional his cause. Countless Christians were martyred in an endless amount of ways. The entire city of Phrygia, known for all of its inhabitants being Christian, was burned to the ground with all the citizen of the city dying in the fire. The torture and martyrdom was so severe that several pagan governors accused the Imperial Court with impropriety. Because of this, some Christians escaped death, but not before having their ears cut off, right eyes poked out, noses slit, limbs dislocated with such severity that they were rendered useless, and finally branded with red-hot irons.27

One final item of note: The persecution of the Christians was not a chronic event in the Roman Empire. With some staggering exceptions, the time in in the middle of these inevitable persecutions was rather peaceful for the Church. With each new emperor however, they were met with new uncertainties.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the reasons for the varied persecutions of the Christians were as varied and involved as the world in which the early church lived. It is a mistake to oversimplify the issue in an attempt to categorize it. As has been documented, Christians suffered persecution from both Jews and Gentiles. The reasons for the persecutions varied with each group, as well as from within each group. There is much investment as to the motives and reasons behind the persecutions. However, there are very few surviving documents, legal or otherwise, which express the grounds for such persecutions, other than the fact that they were simply, “Christians.”

Betta Fish, arguably the most favorite type of fish found in the home today across all the world. This fantastic fish displays a vibrant personality whilst posing the most magnificent colour and fin buildings helping to create a truly jaw dropping aquarium that you can show off to your guests!

Originating from the paddy fields of Vietnam, Betta are an fantastic fish and I will be answering in this article the 10 most favorite questions I get asked on a regular basis about Betta Fish. So lets get started…

1. How Do You Stop Betta Fish From fighting?

This is probably one of the most favorite questions I get asked!

In my taste I’ve found a few ways that work…

One way is simply to get a bigger tank. With the bigger tank you can comprise a join of new plants, bear in mind you don’t want to over do it with the plants otherwise you will ruin your fish display (not very tantalizing to your guests!). By manufacture the tank bigger and introducing a few more plants it creates extra hiding places for your Betta when the aggressive one is on the war path!

A second way is to simply separate the aggressive fish from the rest. This can be done by putting a divider into your tank, or by taking the aggressive fish out and putting it into a new tank. I would personally suggest putting a divider into your tank, size permitting of course, as your Betta will know the other Betta Fish are there. It also helps when it comes to the breeding process because introductions would have already been made.

Thirdly, you must Never, I repeat Never put a male Betta in with an additional one male Betta Fish, period! Otherwise, they will fight to the death (this is why they are also known as Siamese Fighting Fish!). So by not retention males together this will sacrifice fighting astronomically.

Female Betta’s have been known to be aggressive and fight in the middle of each other, particularly if you have 2 together. However, this is just an “I’m the leader” thing going on in the middle of them and regularly wears off , but a technique I’ve used and seen have great success to stop this happening is to add a 3rd female into the tank. By doing this any tension in the middle of the old two is removed – try it, you’ll be surprised how sufficient it is!

2. Can You Keep Male and Female Betta Fish Together?

Yes you can. However, I would suggest retention a close eye on the male Betta just in case he becomes too aggressive and the female needs to be removed. As I mentioned above having plants in the tank can help the female hide if the male becomes aggressive.

3. How Do You Tell the distinction in the middle of a Male and Female Betta Fish

I all the time remember the saying “It’s easy when you know how…” when I get asked this question because when I first started breeding Betta Fish it took me ages to recognise the distinction in the middle of a male and a female…

You will tend to find that female Betta’s have fat bellies where as males tend to have a more streamlined structure. Also, you will find that males have a longer body and fins whereas the females are shorter in body size and fin length.

Also, male Betta Fish tend to have more colour and longer pointed anal fins compared to their female counterparts (sorry ladies!). You will also find female anal fins are more level to their body. The anal fin is the rigid seeing fin arrival from the bottom of the Betta Fish.

However, one giveaway of a female is her white spot on the underside of her belly. This white spot is called the ovipositor and is used while the breeding process.

4. What are the Best Caring Tips for Betta fish?

Lots of population have written books on the branch of caring for Betta Fish but I’m going to give you my best tips that I’ve picked up along the way…

-	Test your water’s acidity level regularly. A Ph level of 7 works best in my experience.

-	Always try and keep the water climatic characteristic at around 75-80 Fahrenheit. I would suggest testing this regularly using a floating thermometer because big drops in water climatic characteristic can cause stress on your fish. Floating thermometers in my taste give the best accuracy reading because they are kept in the tank water.

-	Always keep a lid/cover over the top of your tank with air holes in it because Betta Fish can jump and you might not be there to catch them!

-	Any filtration ideas should be kept at a low level and you must take care not to put the air intake in such a position that it could cause your Betta to get hurt. Having your filter ideas at a high setting has been known to cause stress to your Betta.

-	Try and clean your tank regularly, ideally twice a week. remove bits of food caught under the stones, castles or leaves of your tank.

-	As a rule of thumb I suggest 3 quarters of a gallon per Betta fish in your tank. Also, try and get a spacious tank to allow your Betta plentifulness of room to show off their personality, you’ll be surprised some are very tantalizing to watch!

I’ve all the time found if you love your Betta like you love your own then you won’t go far wrong, and with implementing the above you will be well on your way to having truly fantastic Betta Fish.

5. What Should I Feed My Betta Fish?

Surprisingly, Betta Fish are known to be fussy eaters (and you plan us humans were bad!). So it is best to feed them on a range of foods, such as:

-	Brine shrimp

-	Daphnia

-	Frozen Bloodworms

-	Blackworms (Tubifex) worms

-	Combination Betta Pellets from Pet Shops

-	Powder Fish Food if feeding Fry

-	Vegetables (such as green beans, not a whole one but in tiny portions)

I tend to find a regular feeding pattern of 2-3 times a day works best for Betta. Try as well to make portions eaten in one sitting otherwise any leftover food could lead to supplementary bacteria in the tank potentially causing disease for your Betta Fish.

6. What are Betta Fish also Known as?

Not a lot of population know this but Betta Fish are also known as Siamese Fighting Fish. The name originates because of the males aggressiveness and their “Fight to the Death” attitude if two males are put in the same tank together.

Betta fish are often referred to as Betta Splendens but this is a type of breed of Betta, which leads us nicely onto the next question…

7. What are the distinct Types of Betta Fish Available?

There are many types of Betta Fish available, the most favorite types I’ve listed below:

- Betta Splendens (the most tasteless type)

- Betta Bellica

- Betta Coccina

- Betta Picta

Some of the most favorite Tail Types of Betta are:

- Veil Tail (this commonly the most tasteless tail type that you find at the pet stores)

- Delta Fish (normally any fish under the 180 degree tail span is determined a Delta)

- Super Delta Fish (normally any Betta with a tail span of 120-180 degrees)

- Fan Tail (the Betta’s tail displays a smoothly rounded edge)

- Half Moon (as it’s name suggest it’s tail is the shape of a half moon – a 180 degrees span, this is the fish most breeders strive to perform and display a truly fantastic colour!)

- Pin (Spade) Tail (the Betta’s tail is pointed at the end)

Depending on what you are seeing for this should hopefully give you adequate data to pick a Betta fish at the pet store!

8. Can I Put Bamboo in With My Betta Fish?

Bamboo or Lucky Bamboo as it is also known, the type that is sold from pet stores, can be put into your tank with your Betta Fish. The bamboo can make your tank look more tantalizing and tantalizing to your guests, which is all the time a bonus!

However, what I suggest is that the bamboo is washed thoroughly before entry into the tank to help ensure there are no chemicals on it that could hurt your Betta. Also, it is a good idea to check the bamboo regularly just to see if it is rotting because it could issue bacteria into your tank’s water that could potentially harm your Betta fish. Changing your tank’s water often will sacrifice the threat of bacteria happening.

9. What Ammonia Level Should My Tank Be At?

Ideally, you want an ammonia level in the middle of 0-0.5. By changing your water regularly (about 30-50% twice a week, if you have high ammonia) this will help sacrifice the ammonia in your tank.

It is a good idea to monitor ammonia levels on a regular basis, because a high level is not salutary for your Betta Fish.

10. Would a Father Betta Harm His Children?

Unfortunately, a male (Father) Betta would harm his children (Fry). Although, the Father is very protective of the Fry while the spawning process it is tasteless for them to assault the Fry as they come to be bigger and able to look after themselves.

I suggest removing the Father from the tank once the Fry are able to swim freely, regularly 7-10 days after birth because he can come to be very aggressive towards them and potentially cause them harm.

That’s the answers to the 10 most asked questions I get on a regular basis. I hope you found this data useful and are able to put it to good effect.

Here is what you need to know about mechanics of pain the

simple way.

Imaging what will happen if you accidentally drop a steam iron on your foot, or miss the nail and hit your thumb instead. He following chain of events will happen inside your body:

Receptors at the location of pain (of which we have numerous numbers throughout our body), using the bodies lymphatic liquids, will send electrical pulses to your brain, many times faster than the speed of

light alerting it to the pain.

The brain reaction is rapid and immediately red blood cells are sent to the place of pain to fix the problem. Receptors will continue to send pain signals to the brain until question fixed. The same thing (more or less) will happen with any pain. Arthritis pain, Neck pain, Back pain, Muscle pain, period pain, Stomach pain,

Headache etc, etc, etc.

Let have a look at the three type of pain.

1. Urgency pain.

Example of this is:

Injuring yourself while the game;

Dropping a heavy object on some part of your body;

Car, bike, or bicycle accident;

Etc …

Two types of Pain cause by Illness.

One Type can be cured and one cannot.

2. Illness Pain Type one (Can be cured, includes surgery, if needed):

Examples of this:

Appendicitis

Broken bones

Etc …

3. Illness Type two (Can’t be cured):

Examples of this:

Arthritis

Some spinal injuries

Etc …

In every type of illness I described, the doctor, after diagnosing the cause, will prescription you a procedure of performance and (in most cases) pain killers as well, to ease your pain.

Let me call it Chemical Pain Killers.

What chemical pain killers will do is block receptors (chemically) to stop them sending signal of pain to the brain. Unfortunately chemical pain killers will not only block receptors on the place of pain, but most receptors on your body. This is why in most cases population feel uncomfortable and have site effects like vomiting, dizzy, nausea etc.

A best solution, in my opinion, is Acupuncture.

I call it Mechanical Pain Killer.

What Acupuncture will do to you is mechanically block exact receptors, which are sending pain signal to your brain. Acupuncturist will insert special needles in exact points of your body, linked to the pain you have, to block the receptors sending the pain signal to your brain.

Technology is marching with triumph with sizable speed in every aspect of our lives and medicine is not an exemption. In the last few years, very good results were achieved in the field of electronic acupuncture. Let me call it Electronic Pain Killers.

A lot of population worry about hygiene and I can assure you that is not for nothing. With so many diseases in the contemporary world, which we never heard about before, it is best to be safe than sorry.

Electronic Acupuncture Massager (Eam) is a contemporary wonder in your Home Therapies collection.

Build on the system of customary Chinese medicine and contemporary Electronic Technologies, Eam producing low frequency electrical pulses. Eam is linked to the pain points on your body straight through the conductive

pads, blocking receptors by sending a disable signal and blocking them this way of sending a signal to the brain.

It is absolute Genius of contemporary technology.

Pulses is not harmful to your body at all and you will have nearly immediate relief from the pain. In most cases Eam comes with an education hand-operated with a diagram of the major acupuncture point positions.

This will give you a huge benefit not only to use Eam to ease most clear pain, such as arthritis, joint, muscle, shoulder, back, neck etc, but to apply contemporary technology to ease pain from other

illnesses as well.

We strongly suggest you see your physician for guidance first.
